PROVO, Utah — Right after BYU football’s Big 12 championship loss to Texas Tech, it was announced that a Cougar wide receiver is planning to enter the transfer portal.
True freshman LaMason Waller will explore his options this offseason, according to On3 Sports.
Coming out of Sultana High School in Hesperia, California, Waller was a three-star prospect. 247 Sports ranked him as the 90th-best WR in the nation and the 55th-best recruit in the state of California.
For the Sultans, he recorded 2,945 career receiving yards and 41 touchdowns. In his first year with BYU, he didn’t see any time on the field.
He will likely garner some interest in the portal; the list of teams who recruited him out of high school is long and impressive.
