Mary Skinner took her 5-month-old son to the Aldi grocery store in an Illinois town as she prepared to host his first Thanksgiving.

"I think it was Tuesday before Thanksgiving. So it's like one of the busiest shopping days of the year for groceries," she said.

"I already feel when I go into a store, people give me that look like, 'I'm trying to shop and you're bothering me.' So I was already stressed because I don't want to be that parent with a screaming kid."
