TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) — Firefighters responded to a blaze at a local assisted living facility Saturday afternoon, according to Temple city officials.
Temple Fire and Rescue crews were called to Garden Estates of Temple at 5320 Loop 205 at 4:36 p.m., officials said. Arriving firefighters saw thick smoke and fire coming through a second-floor window at the building’s rear.
Before fire crews could begin their attack, a person from nearby Spare Time Texas and a Temple police officer grabbed portable extinguishers to help contain the flames, city officials said. Fire crews then used water lines to finish putting out the blaze while other teams went inside to help residents get out safely.
