A driver was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 4, after a hit-and-run in San Bernardino left two young children seriously injured earlier in the week, police said.

Just before 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, San Bernardino police officers responded to a collision at Arrowhead Avenue and 27th Street. Investigators determined that two women were legally crossing Arrowhead Avenue with six children when a northbound vehicle, traveling at a high rate of speed, struck two of the children — a 3-year-old who was walking and a 4-month-old who was in a stroller.

The impact threw the 3-year-old to the ground, and the vehicle dragged the infant in the stroller for more than 350 feet, police said. The driver briefly stopped, dislodged the stroller, then drove around it and fled at high speed.
