Michigan football has found its new special teams coordinator, and it’s a bit of a stunner.

Kerry Coombs, a former assistant coach at Ohio State, where he most recently served as defensive coordinator in 2021, has been hired to replace the recently dismissed JB Brown , the program announced Saturday evening.

Coombs, now 64, brings more than 40 years of coaching experience to Ann Arbor, with head coach Sherrone Moore calling him a “proven, exceptional football coach.”
