COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former Ohio State football player DJ Jones has deep Buckeye roots, but this weekend, he is trading Scarlet and Gray for cream and crimson as his son Isaiah Jones takes on his alma mater in the Big Ten championship .
DJ wore a Buckeye jersey from 1992 to 1996, was part of the 1992 Big Ten co-championship team and was named 1996 Big Ten and Rose Bowl champion.
Isaiah followed in his football legacy, playing at London High School, then was recruited to play for Indiana University.
Isaiah, #46, is a linebacker for the Hoosiers.
He and his brothers grew up Buckeye fans, but this weekend, the Jones family is putting aside their loyalty.
“Obviously I'm a Buckeye at heart, but blood is much thicker than college allegiance, right?” DJ said in an interview with 10TV.
