A family has been torn apart just days before Christmas after a mum has tragically died after plunging from the tenth floor of a tower block with her three-old twins in her arms.

The 48-year-old was killed instantly and while her children were rushed to hospital alive they have been described as ‘critically injured’ following the horror incident in Madrid . One of the twins has been admitted to Madrid’s 12 de Octubre University Hospital, while the other is in the children’s hospital of Hospital Infantil Niño Jesús.

Medical teams are said to have concerns about the most seriously injured of the two children
