CANTON, Ohio — John Silvestro scored Kirtland’s first four touchdowns and tied an OHSAA Division VI state championship game record. With 255 yards on 19 carries, he highlighted the Hornets’ 41-6 title win Saturday against Hopewell-Loudon.
“It feels good,” Silvestro said.
Asked if he started to feel the wear and tear of a 2,000-yard rushing season, which had never previously been accomplished at Kirtland (15-0), Silvestro kept his response short and sweet.
“I was just happy to be out there,” he said.
