HOUSTON — Houston soccer fans, get ready! The Bayou City just landed some of the biggest names in world football for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
FIFA has released the official group-stage match schedule, and Houston will host three European powerhouses, including two appearances by global superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in what’s expected to be his final World Cup.
Ronaldo set to play twice at NRG Stadium
Portugal will play its first Houston match on June 17 at 12 p.m., facing the winner of the upcoming playoff between Jamaica, New Caledonia, and DR Congo — all still competing for a spot in March.
Ronaldo and Portugal return to NRG on June 23 at 12 p.m. to take on Uzbekistan. This could be the last time fans get to see CR7 compete on the world’s biggest stage.
