HOLLY HILL, Fla. – Holly Hill Police Chief Byron Williams says artificial intelligence is being used in “disturbing ways” by online predators and is creating new challenges for investigators.

“It’s disturbing how AI is being utilized in today’s market,” Williams said.

In June, police arrested 47-year-old David McKeown, a teacher who was charged after using AI to generate child pornography. He was sentenced this week to 135 years in prison.

“This is the first one with the AI component we have seen but I’m pretty sure it won’t be the last,” Williams said.
