SCRANTON, Pa. — On Saturday, the Lackawanna County Sheriff's Deputies and the Wright Center for Patient and Community Engagement were at Courthouse Square, collecting unwrapped toys and monetary donations.
Organizers say their goal is to make this Christmas a little brighter for families in need.
"We want to make everybody's Christmas very happy as we can, and I see more parents struggling this year, uh, to purchase toys. Basically, our list has almost tripled this year," said Geraldine McAndrew, from The Wright Center.
The Wright Center will distribute donated toys to local families and use the monetary donations to purchase additional toys.
