No. 4 Texas Tech defeated BYU for the second time this season in Saturday’s Big 12 Championship game at AT&T Stadium.
The rematch was kind of like the first game. TT’s defense was dominant and elite, and BYU turnovers doomed the No. 11 Cougars when Jay Hill’s defense could not get a turnover for the first time this season.
Texas Tech is in and should have a first-round bye in the CFP bracket.
BYU is out, even with 11 wins, if you listened to the talking heads on Saturday. It will be the first time in the CFP era that an 11-win team is left out of the Top 10.
