STARKVILLE, Miss. (WLOX) - For the first time in history, the Gulfport Admirals are state champions.
On Saturday, the Admirals toppled the Tupelo Golden Wave, 21-20, to claim the 7A State Championship at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville.

The win puts a bow on the Admirals’ most successful season of all time. The team dropped two of its first three games to Picayune and Petal before rebounding, ripping out 11 straight wins to finish out 2025. During that stretch, Gulfport went a flawless 6-0 in region play to claim its first district title since 2019.
The victory over Tupelo gives Gulfport its 12th win in 2025, setting a new program record for most in a season.
