Management at a Byker care home that has been rated as "requires improvement" for 18 months said they were "working hard to implement and embed improvements" with a new manager now at the helm. This comes after the third critical report from Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspectors since April 2024 at Balmoral Court.

The latest inspection at the Tyneside home , on October 23 this year, came after the CQC was made aware of "an incident following which a person using the service sustained a serious injury".
