INDIANAPOLIS — The No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers delivered a stunning upset Saturday, defeating top-ranked Ohio State 13-10 at Lucas Oil Stadium to claim their first Big Ten championship since 1967 and snap a 32-game losing streak against the Buckeyes.
The historic victory came down to the final minutes when Ohio State kicker Jayden Fielding’s 27-yard field goal attempt sailed wide left with 2:48 remaining, preserving Indiana’s three-point advantage and dashing the Buckeyes’ hopes of forcing overtime.
Indiana seized control midway through the third quarter when quarterback Fernando Mendoza connected with Elijah Sarratt on a 17-yard touchdown pass with 8:02 left in the period.
