PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Police have arrested a man they believe shot two people during a birthday party at a South Peoria home. Later, a police spokesperson said the suspect was also hospitalized with a gunshot wound.
A Peoria Police spokesperson said a 21-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and a 60-year-old man was shot in the leg about 11:30 p.m. Friday in a house in the 1700 block of West Lincoln Avenue, near South Matthew Street.
Both men were hospitalized but are expected to recover from their wounds, the spokesperson said.
Police said they arrested Lonnie Payno Jr., 53, of Peoria on preliminary charges of aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and possession of a stolen firearm.
