The Union boys basketball team had to wait longer than most Southwest Washington teams to make their season debut, but they made it count in a dominant win Saturday.
Playing Tenison Woods College of Australia during their visit to the Pacific Northwest, the Titans rolled to a 91-47 win behind Pat Howe’s team-high 23 points plus 18 points from Ethan Manville.
Union set a torrid pace early with 27 first-quarter points and kept its foot on the gas pedal. Already with a 20-point halftime lead, Union outscored Tenison Woods 24-11 in the third to put the game out of reach.
Union made 37 field goals, with 34 of them made inside the 3-point line.
It was Tenison Woods’ second game in as many nights after losing to Evergreen on Friday.
