CLEVELAND, Ohio — As Shedeur Sanders makes his third career start Sunday against the Titans, he must take another step up in the passing game and demonstrate that he can be more efficient and explosive.
Heading into his head-to-head matchup against Titans No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward, Sanders has gone 31 of 61 for 405 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions for a 69.4 rating.
He’s 45th in the NFL in rating, and 46th with a 50.8 completion percentage. He’s also 44th with 135 yards per game, and second-last in the NFL with a 7.0 QBR.
Against the 49ers, the Browns ran a conservative gameplan partly because of the weather, and partly to set Sanders up for success against a savvy defensive coordinator in Robert Saleh, who disguised coverages and looks to confuse the rookie.
