CLEMSON — Whatever bowl was in the offing for Clemson, some chaos in the ACC postseason picture may have thrown a wrench in that plan.
It’s been obvious for quite a while that the Tigers aren’t a College Football Playoff contender, but a win for Duke in the ACC title game increases concern about whether the conference will get anyone in the 12-team field.
Virginia is probably eliminated, and Miami’s absence from the title game could hurt its standing in comparison with Notre Dame and Alabama. If no one from the ACC makes the CFP, then that’s more teams that will funnel into bowls.
Duke, Virginia, and Miami could knock Clemson down a peg.
