Bristol pub serves one of the best pints of Guinness in the UK View Image

An Irish pub in Bristol has been named as one of the best pubs in the UK for a pint of Guinness in a new guide issued by the drink brand.

The 'Guinness Harp Guide' has chimed in on the debate as to which pubs are the best, using a number of criteria, and The Star in Fishponds was Bristol's sole representative on the list.

The Victorian pub, which is already well known across the city as being one of the best Irish pubs, can now add the accolade of featuring in the debuting list.

The guide takes into account the pub atmosphere and how much of a warm welcome someone gets within the drinking hole, the level of service as well as how well the pub services a pint of Guinness.
