More Americans back the Democratic Congress members who urged U.S. service members to refuse unlawful orders than support President Donald Trump’s claim that those legislators were committing sedition , according to a new Economist/YouGov poll.

The survey found that 46% of Americans approved of the Democrats’ message, while 39% disapproved and 15% were unsure. Americans viewed Trump’s response less favorably, with 26% saying they approved and 59% saying they disapproved, a net approval of -33.

The Economist/YouGov poll’s findings come amid an extraordinary conflict between the president and a group of six Democrats who in November released a joint video calling on service members to “refuse illegal orders” that might be issued by the Trump administration.
