NEW ORLEANS — Police in New Orleans are investigating a fatal shooting in the 7th Ward that happened late Saturday night.

The New Orleans Police Department says officers were called to the 1800 block of Old Roman Street shortly before 10:48 p.m. on a report of shots fired.

The responding officers found the victim inside a home, suffering from a gunshot wound.

New Orleans EMS transported the victim to the hospital, where the victim died from the gunshot wound. The NOPD did not release any details about the victim or a possible suspect.
