Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert drops back to pass against the Las Vegas Raiders during the second half at SoFi Stadium.

Justin Herbert underwent surgery for a fractured left hand on Monday, leaving his status for Monday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles in question all week as he practiced in a limited capacity.

The Los Angeles Chargers quarterback has yet to miss a game all season, however, and it doesn't appear this injury will be the one to change that in Week 14. Officially questionable for the game, Herbert said earlier in the week that he's preparing to play against the Eagles.

His status won't be officially known until game day, but considering the injury is to Herbert's non-throwing hand, his fantasy managers can feel confident he'll play. In fact, The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported the Chargers are expecting Herbert to go. He's expected to have rookie running back Omarion Hampton back from injury as well.

Who is Justin Herbert's backup?

Trey Lance is the Chargers' backup quarterback. He's played in parts of three games this season, completing 7-of-13 pass attempts for 90 yards.
