Motorists have been issued a warning by the DVLA ahead of the new year as the agency will be banning a variety of number plates from 2026. This is due to fears that the combinations include inappropriate or offensive content.
While many people use the existing licence plate on the car they buy, others choose to personalise their number plate, which can be done using the DVLA's online platform. Adding a personal touch to the vehicle, many motorists choose to personalise the plate with their name or something beloved by them, like a pet.
However, some people tend to take jokes too fair, which could end up being offensive to other motorists or people walking down the street. If Brits are caught with one of the banned number plates, they could be fined
