The Boston Red Sox are among the most powerful suitors for free-agent slugger Kyle Schwarber , according to multiple sources. Schwarber hit 56 homers for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2025, finishing second in National League MVP voting behind Los Angeles Dodgers megastar Shohei Ohtani.
Schwarber’s 2021 stint with the Red Sox, though brief, left an impression. Acquired midseason that year from the Washington Nationals, Schwarber hit .291 with seven home runs and 18 RBI in 41 games regular season games. In the playoffs, he hit three homers, including an ALCS grand slam.
Since departing for Philadelphia, Schwarber has evolved into a truly elite power threat, but according to Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller, Schwarber won’t end up back in Boston this winter.
