Alabama football got in. The Crimson Tide got a spot in the College Football Playoff when the selection committee chose the final field on Sunday, despite UA’s loss in the SEC championship game on Saturday.
The Tide got blown out by Georgia in Atlanta, losing the game, 28-7. During the selection show on ESPN, committee chair Hunter Yurachek appeared.
He explained why Alabama, which landed the No. 9 seed, was not punished for the huge loss in the conference championship game.
“We evaluated all of those conference championship games,” Yurachek said. “And felt like, in the end, regardless of Alabama’s performance yesterday, their body of work in those first 12 games where they probably had the best win, arguably this season, winning at No. 3 Georgia, having to win against Vanderbilt, wi
