Jacksonville State is going bowling for the third straight year.

Despite a 19-15 loss to Kennesaw State in the Conference USA championship, the Gamecocks have clinched a spot in the Salute to Veterans Bowl. The game is scheduled for 8 p.m. Dec. 16.

Jax State will face its old rival Troy University at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery. The teams have not met since 2001. The Veterans Bowl will be the 64th all-time meeting between the programs. Jax State hasn't played a team more than Troy in its history.
