For just the third time in their history, two of college football’s winningest teams will face off as Michigan football and Texas are set to meet in the 2025 Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on Dec. 31 in Orlando, Florida.
No team in NCAA history has more wins than the Wolverines ’ 1,021, with the Longhorns ranking fifth with 964, but U-M is still looking for its first win over Texas. The Longhorns beat Lloyd Carr’s Wolverines, 38-37, in the 2005 Rose Bowl, then trounced the Wolverines in September 2024 in Ann Arbor. They’ll meet again in Austin, Texas, in the 2027 season, but before then, they’ll kick things off at Camping World Stadium in Orlando at the end of this month.
