JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Colts team that has already lost starting quarterback Daniel Jones to an Achilles injury is now playing without its right tackle.
Veteran tackle Braden Smith has been ruled out with a concussion late in the second quarter of Sunday’s game against Jacksonville.
Rookie right tackle Jalen Travis, a fourth-round pick, entered the game in place of Smith. Travis has played 37 snaps this season, mostly as the sixth offensive lineman in heavy sets or in mop-up duty.
The Indianapolis offensive line has been remarkably healthy this season. Before Smith’s injury, the only time the starting offensive line was disrupted was when second-year right guard Matt Goncalves missed the team’s loss to the Rams due to a foot injury.
Smith had played 96.2% of the snaps entering Sund
