Obdulia Sanchez, who gained widespread attention after livestreaming a drunken driving crash that killed her younger sister seven years ago, was fatally shot Tuesday evening in Stockton, California, according to police.
Sanchez died at a hospital after being shot near Gertrude Avenue and Fremont Street in Stockton, KCRA reported. Another man was injured in the drive-by shooting, though his condition remains unknown. Witnesses reported hearing approximately 10 gunshots in the area, police said.
The 2017 crash that brought Sanchez national notoriety occurred in Merced County in Merced, California, when she was 18 years old. While livestreaming on Instagram, she lost control of her vehicle, ejecting her 14-year-old sister from the car. The girl died from her injuries.
