If you want to have a real Christmas tree in Delaware, you won't find a law stopping you from putting one up.
It's hard to replace the smell and warm vibe of a natural-cut Christmas tree. Some cities, like Philadelphia, have laws against real Christmas trees in apartment buildings. Luckily, in the few urban and dense Delaware cities of Wilmington, Dover and Newark, there's no rule against them.
Still, natural Christmas trees do present a fire risk. The National Fire Prevention Association said fire departments responded to about 155 Christmas tree-born fires annually between 2018 and 2022. The best way to keep your tree from becoming a fire hazard is to choose a living one, and keep it watered and alive.
When you pick out a tree, make sure the pine needles don't fall off of the branches
