Alabama football didn’t make it easy on the College Football Playoff selection committee . However, Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide can breathe a sigh of relief on Sunday, as the committee opted to put UA in the final playoff field, the day after an embarrassing loss to Georgia in the SEC championship game.
The Tide will be the No. 9 seed in the playoff. It will travel to No. 8-seeded Oklahoma.
Alabama’s inclusion meant Notre Dame got left out of the field. Miami made it as the No. 9 seed, and will travel to Texas A&M for its first-round game.
If Alabama wins its first game, it will face No. 1 Indiana in the quarterfinal round. The Tide lost to Oklahoma in Tuscaloosa earlier this year.
