A driver was rushed to a hospital with moderate injuries after crashing with a Metrolink train in Riverside on Sunday.
The crash was reported just before 9:30 a.m. Dec. 7 at the intersection of Jefferson Street and the BNSF railway tracks, according to the Riverside Fire Department.
Upon arrival, crews found the vehicle with major damage and a Metrolink train stopped on the tracks. The sole occupant of the vehicle suffered moderate injuries and required extrication. No additional injuries were reported.
Jefferson Street at the rail crossing was temporarily closed for investigation and the public was advised to avoid the area.
