Notre Dame was so unhappy about being left out of the College Football Playoff that it decided to decline all bowl game invitations this season.

The school released a statement Sunday afternoon saying it will decline all invitations to other bowl games and instead look forward to next season.

“As a team, we’ve decided to withdraw our name from consideration for a bowl game following the 2025 season,” the team said. “We appreciate all the support from our families and fans, and we’re hoping to bring the 12th national title to South Bend in 2026.”

On3 college football reporter Brett McMurphy reported that Notre Dame was offered an invitation to play in the Pop-Tarts Bowl in Orlando against BYU, another team left outside the playoff. Georgia Tech later agreed to play in the game.
