A man was arrested following a deadly shooting in Fairfield Sunday afternoon, the police department said.
Authorities report they responded to a shooting in the 2000 block of Cambridge Drive at around 1:07 p.m.
At the scene, police said they found a man in his 40s suffering from a gunshot wound. Officials said the suspect, who was known to the victim, had left the scene before officers arrived.
The victim died from his injuries, according to authorities.
Police report firefighters spotted the suspect and told police officers, who responded to the area and took the 21-year-old suspect into custody.
