COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - South Carolina crowned six new state champions this weekend, including three from the Midlands.

BAMBERG GOES A PERFECT 15-0

Bamberg-Ehrhardt defeated Lamar 35 to 21 in the Class 1A championship for the Red Raiders’ first title since 1990.

HISTORIC SEASON FOR THE REBELS

Strom Thurmond captured the 2A championship. The Rebels beat Hampton County 26 to seven for their first title in 20 years.

DUTCH FORK CONTINUES STATE DOMINANCE

Dutch Fork’s domination continues. The Silver Foxes won their 10th title under head coach Tom Knotts. They beat Summerville 40 to 14.

IRMO LOSES CHAMPIONSHIP REMATCH

The Irmo Yellowjackets finished as the 5A Division Two runner-up after falling to Northwestern , 55 to 13.
