PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Authorities say a suspected impaired driver collided with a Phoenix police patrol car in Maryvale on Sunday morning.

Just before 4:30 a.m., Phoenix police officers were involved in a crash near 51 st Avenue and McDowell Road , according to the department.

The second driver involved, identified as 23-year-old Bryan Ramos, and the officers were all taken to nearby hospitals as a precaution.

Police say Ramos showed signs of impairment and received a DUI citation rather than being taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
