LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The La Vergne Police Department said that a traffic stop for reckless driving led to a drug bust Saturday night.
LVPD said an officer spotted a vehicle speeding down Murfreesboro Road, going about 75 miles per hour, at about 10:36 p.m. Saturday, so the officer turned around and caught up to the vehicle.
The driver stopped on Dick Buchanan Street and stepped out of the vehicle. Additional officers were called to assist in the stop.
During the stop, LVPD said officers smelled alcohol and marijuana, so they conducted a probable cause search. That search led to the discovery of:
Over 100 grams of marijuana
Crushed oxycodone
THC wax
Ecstasy
Adderall
Brass knuckles
A digital scale
Following the discovery, the driver was arrested and charged on several counts
