Komets forward Odeen Tufto couldn’t imagine the possibility a day like back in April after he broke his left fibula and tibia during a playoff game.
“There were moments where it didn’t feel real, to play in a hockey game again,” Tufto said. “I sat in a hospital bed and was basically told I would never play hockey again. I think when things come full circle and you think about it, it’s tough to not be emotional."
In his first game in over eight months, Tufto had two assists as the Komets topped the Cincinnati Cyclones by a 4-1 final on Military Appreciation Night at Memorial Coliseum.
Tufto got a rousing ovation from the crowd of 7,032 when he took the ice for his first faceoff, then another when interviewed at the end of the first period. They cheered for him again when he was announced
