A new nonprofit organization is easing the financial burden for military members by providing free flights to reunite them with their families.
U.S. Army Spc. Santonyo Murray reunited with his wife, Carmelita, and their 3-year-old daughter in Orlando after four months apart.
Murray, who has been stationed in El Paso, flew into Orlando Sunday afternoon without having to pay for his flight, courtesy of Miles for Military.
This organization focuses on providing flights for young, active service members to go home for the holidays or to see their families for special occasions.
"The nonprofit, Miles for Military, they do a great thing," Murray said. "They help out single soldiers, or soldiers that's trying to reconnect with family during hard times if they can't afford to get to it."
