AUSTIN, Texas — A portion of South Pleasant Valley Road in South Austin remains shut down after crews with the Austin Fire Department (AFD) battled a large fire that sparked Sunday night.

According to AFD, the fire started in the 4600 block of S Pleasant Valley Road, and sparked at an apartment building that was under construction.

AFD said there were no injuries caused by the fire. The fire was deemed under control just after 9 p.m.

The area of South Pleasant Valley Road where the fire occurred will remain closed for the next few hours as crews work to clear the scene.
