The Athletic’s Jim Bowden urged the two sides to come to an agreement at the winter meetings. MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand listed the club among the three best fits for the veteran first baseman. The Boston Globe’s Peter Abraham reported that the player has expressed interest in the club to his inner circle.
