RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Voters in Virginia’s 15th District decided Delegate Mike Jones would be the Democratic nominee for the State Senate District 15 seat, Sunday, Dec. 7.
He defeated Delegate Debra Gardner of Chesterfield County for the spot that was vacated by Lieutenant Governor-elect Ghazala Hashmi.
The special election is set for January 6, 2026.
“Mike Jones has shown through his work and leadership that he is deeply committed to serving Virginians and tackling the everyday challenges families face,” Democratic Party of Virginia Chair Senator Lamont Bagby said.
