Without any fanfare, an Arkansas legislative agency launched an online database of the administrative rules of state agencies earlier this year in a project that took more than five years of work to implement at an estimated price tag of $2.7 million.
Despite the state's sizeable investment in the lengthy project, several attorneys and lobbyists said they weren't aware that there is an online database of the rules of Arkansas' state agencies, though they said they believed such a database would be helpful.
The online database of state agencies' rules is the Code of Arkansas Rules, or CAR. Its creation was required by Act 662 of 2019. Visitors may access the database at https://codeofarrules.arkansas.gov/ .
