LOGAN – As a holiday treat for youngsters, the Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre will debut the children’s musical A Year with Frog and Toad on Saturday, Dec. 20.

Based on the well-loved series of children’s books by Arnold Lobell, the whimsical musical by Robert and Willie Reale will be offered as a matinee for the general public at 1 p.m. in the Utah Theatre in downtown Logan.

Nominated for three Tony Awards, the 2003 Broadway hit follows two great friends – the popular, cheerful Frog and his grumpy chum Toad – through four seasons filled with hummable music by the composing team.

As a change of pace, the normally happy-go-lucky Stephan Espinosa will star as the crabby Toad while newcomer Grayson Jenkins plays the jolly Frog.
