In a game between two tired teams, the Portland Winterhawks dominate the 3rd and pull away on goals by Ryan Miller and Alex Weiermair, holding off the Vancouver Giants 4-2.

In a close game after 2 with Vancouver possibly having the better of the chances, the Winterhawks outshot them 20-6. It was the 3rd game in 3 nights for both teams, and the Giants had to make the overnight trip down from Everett.

Miller had 3 points and, once the dust settles on the weekend’s stats, will probably have his point streak extended to a league-high 22 games. Carter Sotheran had 3 assists, and Ondrej Štěbeták stopped 28 of 30 shots.

Portland goes 2-1 for the weekend, and has another 3-in-3 followed by a midweek game to wrap up the 1st half.
