Diane Braun reached out to KETV after her health insurance premium estimate skyrocketed from $560 to $2,583 per month starting in 2026.
One expert says she's not the only one facing the stark increase. OneWorld Community Health Center's CEO, Andrea Skolnik, says it's caused by enhanced tax credits set to expire at the end of 2025, unless Congress acts fast, causing increases in Affordable Care Act marketplace insurance costs.
"It increased by 460%," Braun said. "I called my health care plan, and I said, I noticed that the premium went up. Can you tell me why? And they told me part of it was with regard to no longer having that tax care advantage and that they're allowed to increase their insurance premiums."
