CARNATION, Wash. — Emma Ingram died Saturday afternoon when a tree fell onto her vehicle on state Route 203 north of Carnation. Her boyfriend, who was driving, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.
The couple was on their way to lunch when the crash happened near Fay Road Northeast, blocking both directions of the highway for more than three hours. Emergency responders from Eastside Fire & Rescue and Redmond Fire were on scene. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) later confirmed all lanes had reopened after about 3.5 hours.
