King accepts Quilt of Valor from DAR ‘for all women who’ve served in the military’

As Fort Massac Daughters of the American Revolution regent Susan Lassy and treasurer Rita Park prepared to wrap a Quilt of Valor around Kathryn King’s shoulders, Brenda Mizell, the chapter’s vice regent, noted the Nov. 22 presentation was a historic one for the chapter.

While King is the eighth recipient of a Quilt of Valor from the chapter, she is the first woman who is a veteran to receive the honor from Fort Massac DAR.
