Newcastle United have been warned they must help Eddie Howe in the January transfer market or run the risk of disappointment in the second half of the season.
The Magpies have money to spend in the forthcoming window, should the right deal come along, but forrmer Newcastle, Tottenham and England winger Chris Waddle has stressed the need for a more robust squad.
United brought in six players over the summer, but Howe has still had to use players out of position already this season to cope with some unfortunate injuries.
